  11. <p>   There was one probable act of international terrorism in
  12. Zimbabwe in 1991. A bomb exploded at the Sheraton Hotel in
  13. Harare on 20 July, causing extensive damage to one floor and
  14. slightly injuring several people. The following day a
  15. previously unknown group, the Red Friday Liberation Movement,
  16. claimed responsibility, but the government's investigation has
  17. not determined who planted the bomb or their motives.
  18. </p>
  19. <p>   During the Persian Gulf war, Zimbabwe assigned additional
  20. security personnel to Western embassies, including the American
  21. Embassy. Two Iraqis suspected of plotting a terrorist operation
  22. against the US Embassy were deported in January 1991.
